Age Relaxation for RRB JE Recruitment
Upper age limit is relaxed for reserved categories as below:
- OBC–NCL: +3 years
- SC / ST: +5 years
- PwBD (UR & EWS): +10 years
- PwBD (OBC–NCL): +13 years
- PwBD (SC / ST): +15 years
Educational Qualification – RRB JE, DMS & CMA
1. Junior Engineer – Electrical
- Three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
or a combination of related sub-streams from a recognised institute.
2. Junior Engineer – Civil
- Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering
OR B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (3-year)
or a related combination of Civil Engineering streams.
3. Junior Engineer – Track Machine
- Three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering
or a closely related combination of these streams.
4. Junior Engineer – Mechanical
- Three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Manufacturing / Mechatronics / Industrial / Instrumentation & Control / Tools & Machining / Tools & Die Making / Automobile / Production Engineering,
or a relevant combination of the above disciplines.
5. Junior Engineer – Diesel Electrical
- Three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
or a combination of these core streams.
6. Junior Engineer – Signal & Telecommunication
- Three-year Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Information Technology / Communication Engineering / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering
or a combination of these streams.
7. Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)
- Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognised institute.
8. Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)
- B.Sc. degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry
- Minimum 45% marks from a recognised university.

Application / exam fee is different for each category:
- SC / ST: ₹250
- Ex-servicemen: ₹250

- All other candidates: ₹500
