Gauhati University Non-Teaching Vacancy 2026 – Post Details

1. Principal, University Law College

  • No. of posts: 1 (UR)

Eligibility criteria

  • LLM and Ph.D. in Law as per Legal Education Rules 2008 of the Bar Council of India (Rule 16).
  • Must be Professor / Associate Professor with 15 years’ experience in teaching / research / administration in universities, colleges or other higher-education institutions.
  • Should have a minimum research score of 110 as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Notification dated 18 July 2018.

2. Superintending Engineer

  • No. of posts: 1 (UR)

Eligibility criteria

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and presently serving under Central / State Government or Union Territory Administration.
  • Holding an analogous post or at least
    • 5 years’ experience as Dy. Engineer / Executive Engineer, or
    • 10 years’ experience as Assistant Executive Engineer in regular service in a recognised institution.
  • Desirable experience in planning, architecture, urban design/management, supervision and construction of multistoried buildings, lecture theatres, laboratories, auditoriums, hostels, roads, water-supply, sanitary installations etc.

3. Assistant University Engineer (Civil)

  • No. of posts: 1 (UR)

Eligibility criteria

  • B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant work such as construction of buildings and other civil engineering projects, supervision and quality control.

4. Coordinator, Centre for South East Asian Studies

  • No. of posts: 1 (UR)

Eligibility criteria

  • M.A. in any discipline of Social Sciences or Humanities.
  • Experience in the concerned field will be treated as an additional qualification.
  • Minimum 60% marks in M.A. or equivalent grade.
  • Good office-management skills and sound knowledge of computer applications.
  • Good writing skills in English and Assamese.

5. Junior Engineer (Electrical)

  • No. of posts: 1 (UR)

Eligibility criteria (any one)

  • 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3 years’ experience and a valid Electrical Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency,
    OR
  • B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 1 year experience and a valid Electrical Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency.

For post 5 (Junior Engineer – Electrical)

  • All applicants: ₹1000/-
  • SC / ST: ₹500/-
  • Payment has to be made online only.

Applications must be submitted in two steps – online form and hard-copy submission.

Step 1 – Online Application

  2. Go to the “Important Web-Links” section and click “Online Application Form”.
  3. Complete registration by clicking “New User? Register Now”.
  4. After registration, log in again through the Online Application Form link.
  5. Fill in your personal and educational details carefully.
  6. Upload your passport-size photograph, signature and other required documents.
  7. Pay the application fee as per your post and category and then submit the form.
  8. Take a printout of the submitted online application.

Step 2 – Submission of Hard Copy

After submitting the online form:

  1. Take a duly signed hard copy (PDF/print) of the completed application.
  2. Attach all necessary enclosures, including:
    • proof of payment of application fee, and
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC) wherever applicable.
