509 Trade, Technician & Graduate Apprentice Posts (Eastern Region)
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Marketing Division – Eastern Region – has invited online applications for 509 Apprentice posts in different trades and disciplines.
The apprentices will be placed at IOCL locations in:
West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
For candidates from Assam, this notification also includes 95 apprentice seats in the state.

3. IOCL Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
3.1 Age Limit (as on 31.12.2025)
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 24 years
Age relaxation:
- SC / ST: +5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- PwBD (General / EWS): +10 years
- PwBD (SC / ST): +15 years
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): +13 years
3.2 Educational Qualification
Below is a simple summary of the main qualification groups.
All qualifications must be from recognised Institutes / Universities and with the minimum marks prescribed in the advertisement.
A. Technician Apprentice (Diploma)
3-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch with at least 50% marks (45% for SC / ST / PwBD).

- Chemical Engineering
B. Trade Apprentice (Technical)
Regular ITI course with NCVT / SCVT certification in concerned trade, such as:
- Fitter
- Electrician
- Electronic Mechanic
- Instrument Mechanic
- Machinist
Minimum 2 years ITI in the relevant trade (wherever applicable).
C. Trade Apprentice – Non-Technical
- Trade Apprentice – Accounts Executive / Graduate Apprentice (Fresher):
Full-time Graduation (BA / BSc / BCom / BBA or equivalent) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST / PwBD). - Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holder):
Class 12th pass plus Skill Certificate of Domestic Data Entry Operator from a recognised awarding body (NSDC or other recognised Sector Skill Councils). - Trade Apprentice – Domestic Data Entry Operator (Fresher):
Class 12th pass from a recognised board.
D. Graduate Apprentice (BA / BCom / BSc / BBA etc.)
Regular full-time Graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST / PwBD / OBC-NCL candidates for reserved posts).
Note: For each discipline, IOCL has mentioned a separate “Discipline Code” in the official notification. Candidates should match their qualification with the correct code before applying.
4. Selection Process
- Shortlisting will be done as per IOCL rules.
- Usually, candidates are selected through a written test and verification of documents.
- Final selection is subject to qualifying medical fitness and all eligibility conditions.

5. How to Apply for IOCL Marketing Division Apprentice Posts
The application process has two main parts – registration on the apprenticeship portals and submission of details to IOCL.
Step 1 – Register on Apprenticeship Portal
Depending on your qualification:
- Trade Apprentices (ITI & 12th based):
Register on NAPS portal – National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme. - Technician & Graduate Apprentices (Diploma / Degree):
Register on NATS portal – National Apprenticeship Training Scheme.
While registering, search for “Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Marketing Division) – Eastern Region” and select the establishment for which you are applying.
Step 2 – Apply Against IOCL Openings
- After registration, log in to NATS / NAPS using your user ID / email ID.
- Go to “Apprenticeship Opportunities / Openings” and apply for the IOCL Eastern Region advertisement using the establishment ID mentioned in the notification.
Step 3 – Submit Details to IOCL
- IOCL also asks candidates to fill a Microsoft Form for location preference and document verification.
- The link to this form is available in the official advertisement and in the “Important Links” section on the IOCL website.
- This form must be submitted on or before 09.01.2026. Candidates who skip this step may not receive their call letter.
Step 4 – Keep Documents Ready
At the time of document verification, candidates should carry:
- Print-out of NATS / NAPS application
- Age proof (10th pass certificate)
- Educational and technical qualification certificates
- Caste / PwBD certificate (if applicable)
- Photo ID proof and recent passport-size photographs
