Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL 2026

Nationality

The applicant must be an Indian citizen. Other eligible categories, if any, will be as per the rules mentioned in the official SSC notification.


Age Limit for SSC CGL 2026

Age will be calculated as on 1 August 2026.

The age limit is different for different posts. In general, SSC CGL posts fall under the following age groups:

  • 18 to 27 years
  • 20 to 30 years
  • 18 to 30 years
  • 18 to 32 years

Candidates should check the post-wise age limit before selecting post preferences.

Age Relaxation

Upper age relaxation is available as per Government rules:

Educational Qualification

Educational qualification will be counted as on 1 August 2026.

For Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or institute.

Desirable qualifications include CA, CMA, CS, Master’s in Commerce, Master’s in Business Studies, MBA Finance or Master’s in Business Economics.

For Junior Statistical Officer

Candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognised university with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at Class 12 level,

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

For Statistical Investigator Grade-II

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any one of the following subjects:

Selection Process of SSC CGL 2026
