The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) under the Ministry of Railways has officially announced 9970 vacancies for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) across various regions. This recruitment is being conducted under CEN No. 01/2025. The application process is online and has started from 12th April 2025. The last date to apply is 19th May 2025.

- Pay Scale: Level 2 of 7th CPC with starting basic pay of ₹19,900/- + other allowances
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 1st July 2025):
- Minimum: 18 Years
- Maximum: 30 Years
Age Relaxation:
- OBC-NCL: 3 Years
- SC/ST: 5 Years
Educational Qualification (Any one of the following):
- Matriculation/SSLC + ITI (in trades like Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic Diesel, Wireman, etc.) from NCVT/SCVT.
- Matriculation/SSLC + Act Apprenticeship in the same trades.
- 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
- Degree in Engineering in the above disciplines is also accepted.
Medical & Physical Requirements
- Medical Standard: A1
- General Fitness: Must be physically fit in all respects
- Vision Requirements:
- Distant Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses (fogging test required, +2D not accepted)
- Near Vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 without glasses
- Must qualify tests for color vision, night vision, binocular vision, field of vision, etc.
